Light and Shadow...
Through it's repeating arches running along the north bank of the Arno River, sunlight passes underneath the Vasari Corridor to illuminate the alleyway known as Lungarno dei Archibusier - The Corridor is an amazing kilometer-long elevated and enclosed hallway starting at the Uffizi Gallery / Palazzo Vecchio, running east to west along the bank of the river, crossing the river atop the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, snaking southward across the top of several neighborhoods to terminate at Palazzo Pitti. Constructed in only five months in the year 1565 by the Medici in conjunction with a family wedding, the enclosed corridor has undergone several modifications across the centuries. Although not open to the public, the structure houses large art collection displayed along its interior walls... We were struck by the patterns of urban light and shadow along the alleyway, diminishing into the distance. Firenze, Toscana, Italia
