November 18, 2012 - Mesa Arch - A stitched set of ten portrait-aspect images, depicting an ultra-compressed, 180 degree view, standing about 30 feet to the right of the arch. From Island in the Sky, Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
One needs to have stood here to really appreciate how large this scene really is.. The LaSal Mountains float on the middle horizon and right below, although not easy to see, is Washerwoman Arch and the further back, the formation known as the 'Airport.' The Colorado River has cut a gorge so deep, the view from the east side of the Island in the Sky area almost never allows a glimpse.. Open this in X3 to get a better sense of the view..
