In the open cafè at the French Market, we were romanced by the bass & a trumpet.. We chose the bass, as the light of the morning sun bounced back from the buildings on the other side of Decatur, wrapping all around the musician and his instrument.. Unreal. New Orleans!

The Bass Violin, in my humble opinion may be the most feminine, complex and seductive of musical instruments. Not so much for her song, but for the gentle lines and flowing curves of her neck, her sides, her back... She always responds to the musician's gentle caress. Then there's the craftsmanship in her heritage and birth - created by a skilled artisan - of raw wood, metal, sweat, tears and maybe just a little magic.

Your comments on New Orleans and rally cry against the 'snake' are so appreciated..
